“Real motivation will only be achieved when employee interests align with the company vision”

Ask yourself three simple questions:

QUESTION 1. If I asked you to score yourself on a 1 – 10 scale against each of the 7 areas of life (where 10 is blissfully happy and content and 1 is suicidally depressed) how would this look?

So your ‘VIP’ score would be the total of the seven scores.

QUESTION 2. Are you happy with that Score?

QUESTION 3. If you could wave a magic wand and make all the seven scores 10/10 What would it look like? I mean, your financial $, your relationship, your career, health, social impact, health, mental knowledge. What would you be, do and have if you did get 10/10 in everything?

WHY QUESTION 1. IS SO IMPORTANT

The normal reaction for people in a funk (low scores below 5 in any area of life) is to focus solely on one or two of these areas of life. For example, if you are down in career, you might turn to looking for a new job. Down in health, you might sign up at a gym or get a personal trainer. Down mentally you might get a therapist or start meditating, and so on.

The problem with this is that as one aspect grows, another shrinks. For example: say you’re unfulfilled at work so you decide to drive harder or change jobs and make a big effort but as a result, your family and love-life suffers because you’re completely focussed and exhausted at night. Or if your finances are struggling you might start worrying about money, staying up at night investing in shares and be too tired to get up in the morning, therefore ignoring your health. The result, which is the norm for our working world is that your overall VIP score doesn’t change, it simply changes shape. Old problems may go away, new ones appear.

Have you seen this happen to anyone you know? Just one problem, one stress after the other.

WHY QUESTION 2. IS IMPORTANT

YOUR HAPPINESS IS PARAMOUNT

Happiness and it’s derivatives, contentment and satisfaction are the greatest form of resilience. The lack of resilience costs us individually and as a planet. The environmental issues we face as a world are made worse by the breakdown in the social fabric of which our happiness is so important. Happy people change the world. And, your career is a big part of your happiness and when people are not happy at work the results for the wellbeing of all levels of society are not good. If we are to build a better world, it must start with an accountability for personal happiness. Are you happy today?

“The search for happiness is one of the chief sources of unhappiness.”

– Eric Hoffer

The Complete Package of you:

There are seven areas of your life and rather than a problem solving or fire fighting approach to each, you need to look after them all – proactively, before funk starts in blindspots. There are seven areas of life, so there are seven areas of happiness. Each is important.

There are seven levels of happiness… seek the most sustainable one.

Each area of your brain gets triggered by different stuff. If you run around trying to please all of them, you’ll be no better than a monkey in a cage, and only another monkey or Jane Goodall, can love you.

Language is the key. Got to (fight flight) is a monkey on your back that can never be satisfied. Don’t try. Simply find a part of your brain that can be satisfied and say “I love it” That’s being a good friend to your super self.

FASTER IS NATURE – GETTING MORE DONE IN LESS TIME WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Everything that makes you unhappy can be fixed either temporarily or permanently. Temporary is your doctor, lawyer, therapist, spiritual guru etc. Permanent is Nature’s Universal Laws applied to evolve you.

WHY QUESTION 3 is SO IMPORTANT

You are going to grow, evolve, develop and as you do it’s great to assert some influence on the direction this takes. We call this your personal vision and having a personal vision, actually seven personal visions is the key to asserting influence. Your priorities around these seven will depend on your personal values. It’s wise to know your priorities. Your dominant value, highest priority will become your life’s purpose. And we sabotage anything we can’t link to our purpose. All this is called self-awareness, and this is important. Unhappy people get a problem in one area and try to solve it and in doing so, create a problem in another area. Treat yourself as a total human being… the whole package.

THE BACK ON TRACK VIP PROGRAM OFFERS YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPLEMENT THE SKILLS OF VISION, INSPIRATION, PURPOSE (high scores, resolve funk, proactively evolve and stay on track)
